Who am I?

Hello. I have got the printer HP Photosmart 7260 series. Because there is not drivers for this printer in VISTA I dowloaded aplication from HP site. But during instalation (setup. exe) I have got the communicate that I am not permision to install this aplication. I am the only user on my computer and I am the administrator, I thought. So I was forced to install driver for HP Photosmart 7800. It works but ... who am I according to VISTA? Is there any possibility to install the above aplication?. Regards -- JerzyMarian

Right click on the installer and choose Run as Administrator.

I did it. But System informed me that that this programm can not "run as administrator". According to VISTA I ought to log out and log again as administrator. Do you understand it? Regards -- JerzyMarian

All users in Vista run as Standard. This is different from XP, in that, in XP you could have a true Administrator level account and in Vista, you can not unless you log-on to Vista in Safe Mode. It is one way that Vista attempts to enhance security against malware from installing itself, or Standard Users from changing things the Administrator does not want them to change.
The difference between a Standard User and an Administrator-level User in Vista is if you are logged on as an the Administrator-level User, you will receive a prompt from the UAC whenever an application requires Administrator-level privileges and must simply click a button, whereas the Standard User accounts must enter the Administrator-level account password in order to continue from the same prompt.
